The incident happened Wednesday morning at the shopping center on Phillips Drive. Midfield police Sgt. Jesse Bell said the 74-year-old victim was at her car after finishing her shopping when the man approached and demanded her money.
The man who found the device said he noticed the terminal looked loose when he swiped his card.
Officials said the weather caused the tent to collapse.
